Meet the Maker, Marjory “Marjie” Graham. From her studio in Oakland, CA, she make small batch, wheel thrown and hand built functional and decorative ceramics with porcelain and stoneware clay.
While Marjie’s formal training led her to run an educational therapy private practice for 25 years, once she took a few ceramic lessons she was completely hooked. With much passion and practice her beautiful designs emerged. Her objective is to create ceramic plates, bowls, platters and trays that are beautiful and useful, and to bring something special to everyday life. Marjie keeps these goals in mind through each of the many stages of making her functional and decorative pottery.
Each piece is inspired by the natural world and the world of culture.
