Ro25 Design
Meet the Maker, Ronen Azulay, founder of Ro25 Design. He is an Israeli-born textile artist, working and living in New York City. Ronen uses up-cycled canvas and denim to meticulously construct hand-painted pillows that will breathe life into your living room and/or bedroom design. They are unlike anything you’ve ever seen, and have captured the movement and reflection of the moon beautifully.
Ronen moved to NYC in 1996 to attend the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and quickly built a career for himself in the fashion industry designing menswear. In 2018 his interests changed and corporate ambition was no longer his motivation. Today in his own artist’s studio, he creates handcrafted one-of-a-kind decor that feels completely and authentically his own.
Reflecting on his role as a consumer in a world and industry focused on mass production, Azulay was inspired to slow down. Paying attention to the home decor he creates and brings into his own life, Azulay looks for opportunities to recycle materials, using them as new media and tools. He incorporates items cast off from his former life as a fashion designer, including repurposed denim and other textiles.
Ro25 Design has a collection of vibrantly colored pillows to step up the design aesthetic in your home. Azulay’s abstract, figurative designs focus on themes like the sun, moon and ocean, and the past and the present. Through his design and art he seeks to contribute to a healthy cultural ecosystem that is focused on sustainability.
